Disagreements...you'd think at 71 years of age, experience would have taught me how to handle them effectively so I can ensure the opposing party understands my position and I in turn, understand theirs. In all my years of careers working with and for people, I still don't get it. I still have the undeniable need to be 'right'. I still look disdainfully at people with diametrically opposing views. I still question the intelligence, ability to critically think, and willingness to be open minded of the one on the other side of the table. Why?

This seems like a good recipe to follow...but what if the other side of the table is stubborn, unteachable and unconcerned with coming to agreement. I guess then we need to learn when to walk away.
