For all of us designers that like to see type in action...here's one that's kind of funny, too. Click on the above Thinking about Type to see a great Abbott and Costello on type.
The first couple of sessions in typography (GRD 140 - Intro to Type) were spent discussing and practicing using expressive typography. Giving a voice to our written words. In this clip, the designer has attempted to visually display A&C's witty banter. With dancing type and turning the sound off, we still get a pretty good sense of the emotion going into the conversation. You think?
Now, without sound, without visuals...what do you see and hear with this 1961 ad created by George Lois?
Geez....the wonder of type!
